Straubinger Flutes Recap Find out what we've been up to here in Indianapolis and far afield in New York, California, France, Switzerland, and Spain. Indianapolis  On November 6th, William Bennett visited David's newly reconstructed production facility following two days of masterclasses and performances at the University of Indiana. (see more pictures) Two June workshops for Straubinger Flute Pad Certification were conducted at Straubinger Flutes. These fast-track courses were especially designed to meet the needs of several technicians who requested more advanced skills training. Carol Dennis, for whom David made the flute, shares a history with Sir Galway that goes back many years to when she traveled with her husband Dick Dennis, (concert-master for Henry Mancini) AND Sir Galway. (see more NFA 2009 pictures) Switzerland  Emma Huelskamp was invited back to play her Straubinger Silver Flute at the Sir James Galway 2010 Master Class in Weggis, Switzerland. (see more pictures) June 2010 - David traveled to Zurich, Switzerland where he met with customers in the Wengen area of Switzerland. One of the highlights of the trip was an impromptu evening of flute music, played by one of our customers on her Straubinger Flute and joined by by another flutist also playing a Straubinger flute with a breathtaking view of the Tshingelhorn Mountain in the background. 
Markus Haeller, Zurich, SwitzerlandJune 2010 - David met Marcus Haeller, Certified Technician at Musik Hug, which is a dealer for Straubinger Flutes in Zurich. Together they explored the specific challenges of doing business together and the impact of the current global economy. While in the area, David also met with a Swiss banking specialist concerning new laws and requirements imposed by our government on international marketing. In addition, he also met with flutists in the St. Gallen and Zurich area. 
Musik Hug, Zurich, SwitzerlandJune 2010 - David traveled to Geneva, Switzerland, where he met with flutists and customers at Vents du Midi/Flautissimo SARL, hosted by owners Alice Gunther and Otto Hnatek, also Certified Technicians and brokers for Straubinger Flutes.  |
Thomas Robertello Thomas Robertello Masterclass The Los Angeles Flute Guild, along with California State University, Fullerton, and Straubinger Flutes, Inc. hosted Internationally acclaimed flutist, Thomas Robertello, in a special Master Class at California State University, Fullerton on Monday, March 15th. Straubinger Flutes announces the release of its newest CD: The Complete Fantasies of Georg Philipp Telemann, performed by Thomas Robertello on his Straubinger Flute. "... It's beautiful in every way, and an utter delight! Great playing; great sound!" - Carol Rosenberger, Delos International The CDs are available from NAXOSDirect.com. The cost per CD is $16.99. Check the Internet for other sources, but we highly recommend the NAXOS recording for a flawless product and sound reproduction of the very highest quality. Robertello In Concert with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra December 3 - 6, 2009, Mahler 4 May 2010, Shostakovich 6 and Debussy's La Mer More Straubinger Flutes Recap Spain June 2010 - David met with Sergio Gomez Certified Technician from Spain, where he represents Straubinger Flutes there, as well as Portugal. In addition, he met with Bernd Schille, now located in Germany, concerning his new model clarinet, which is the first to be introduced with Straubinger Pads installed at the factory. France June 2010 - David traveled to LYON, France where he met with flutists and demonstrated his Straubinger Flutes and Head Joints. He was hosted by Pierre Scharff, owner of JS Musique. David also met with Simon Messainguiral, the Straubinger Certified Technician for JS Musique. California November 2009 - David Straubinger demonstrated his instruments at the Los Angeles Flute Guild's First Annual Flute Day on Saturday, November 14, 2009. All events were held on the campus of Cal State University Long Beach. The event, which was well-attended with excellent participation in non-stop training opportunities, was coordinated by Janelle Barrera. On Nov 15-16, David met with flutists interested in trying Straubinger Flutes and head joints at the studio of Paul Rabinov in La Crescenta, CA. Straubinger Flutes In The News The Straubinger Phoenix™ Flute Pad was introduced at the NAMM Convention, January 15-18, 2009. flyer A variant of David's newest patent has been named the Straubinger Phoenix™ Flute Pad to commemorate our return from the horrific fire of 2008. This particular pad was made especially for Conn-Selmer to use in their production Avanti Flutes, designed by Bickford Brannen and flute makers at Conn-Selmer. It was introduced at the NAMM Show with the Straubinger Phoenix™ Flute Pads installed in each flute. flyer Now In Print!
